JEE Main 2020, NEET 2020 exam new dates, Chinese Virus again derailed the shedule


Due to Chinese Virus,  JEE and NEET examinations were postponed, now new dates have been announced. Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced that the JEE Main 2020 examinations will now be held from September 1 to 6, the JEE Advanced exams will be held on September 27 while the NEET 2020 examinations will be on September 13. On July 2, 

Pokhriyal formed a panel to assess the status of conducting the examinations, following the recommendation of which the examination dates for the JEE Main 2020 and NEET Main 2020 have been revised. Prior to this, parents and students started rallying against the National Testing Agency to clarify the situation on the dates of NEET and JEE.


The JEE 2020 entrance exam is conducted for admission to Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and National Institute of Technology (NITs) and other technical institutes. JEE and NEET examinations are given for admission to engineering and undergraduate medical courses.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of students. He said I have announced new dates as promised. These examinations were postponed due to Corona virus. Safety of students and quality of education is our priority. So I hope that students will use this extra time for their studies and preparation.


NEET and JEE exams were to be held in May 2020. It was postponed until July 2020 following the enforced nationwide lockdown of the Covid-19 crisis.


The CBSE board has canceled the exams of class X and XII to avoid the infection of corona virus but it is not good to cancel entrance exams like JEE and NEET.


Every year about 10 lakh students appear for JEE Main examinations and this year about 9 lakh 35 thousand students have registered for JEE Main 2020. However, about 12 thousand seats are available in IITs every year.
